FREEDOM is a short word And is not always FREE It's definition not known by many But known by Veterans who gave so much and some gave ALL The fight started many years ago And shed much blood in all We fought at Valley Forge for it And shed blood on our soil We fought the Civil War for it And shed blood on our soil We fought in WWI for it And shed our blood on foreign soil We fought in Europe and the Pacific in WWII for it, And shed our blood on foreign soil We fought in Korea and Vietnam for it (unpopular though it may be) And shed our blood on foreign soil We fought in the Gulf war for it And shed our blood on foreign soil We were routing out some terrorist in Somalia fort it And shed our blood on foreign soil We were hit at home by cowards and are at war with them right now And shed our blood on our own soil We take a lot before we act, but have seen the damage now We are throwing our petty differences away and uniting for our cause Our flags are flying stronger now Our pride is growing too But we must always remember That our "FREEDOM IS NOT REALLY FREE" And our blood is shed by ALL Something always known by Veterans And now known by ALL!
